Stranded Wire and Ropes Explained

Stranded conductors are wires created by twisting multiple smaller wires together, serving various industries and cable assemblies. There are several types of stranded wires, each with its unique configuration. These come in three main forms: equilay, unidirectional, and unilay, differing in their lay lengths and directions. Another type is the bunch strand, where wire strands are bundled randomly and twisted together in one direction.  Lastly, rope strands are constructed by twisting together finer strands to enhance flexibility while maintaining tight dimensional tolerances. These are particularly suitable for applications requiring a high range of motion.
